The Piaggio (Vespa) Museum
The Vespa scooter….. it’s up there with the Leaning Tower, pizza and Pavarotti when one brings to mind the symbols of Italy. The Piaggio factory which produces this motorized icon is in the nearby town of Pontedera.
Here you’ll find a small museum with an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Vespa. Today’s museum is situated in what was once the company tool shop. The Vespas on display are some of the most beautiful and rarest of their kind.
All the displays are labelled in English as well as Italian and there is a small bookshop with some Vespa memorabilia.
