Overview

A romantic hideaway in the heart of the Medieval village of Vicopisano, Casa Colomba offers stylish interiors and authentic Tuscan character with modern living in mind.

The property dates back to the 12th Century and like many of the tower houses at the time it was probably the residential home of a noble merchant and his family. The property retains original features such as beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and hand-baked terracotta tiled floors.

Casa Colomba is within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants and is the ideal property for those looking for a romantic escape!

Description

BEDROOM
The characteristic bedroom is housed within the walls of the 12th Century tower.

The antique cast iron (Queen size) bed and chandelier are both typical of the region and the bedroom window looks out onto gardens and surrounding hills. High quality bed linens dress the bed and soft white bathrobes are provided for you to lounge in.

LIVING AND LOUNGING SPACE
The apartment comprises of a large living room with lofty beamed ceiling and exposed stone walls. There is a study come library corner offering a wide range of books and information on the local area. Although ideally suited for couples there is a double sofa bed in the living room which ideally sleeps one adult or two children.

BATHROOM
The bathroom also has characteristic beamed ceilings and a contemporary mix of glass and chrome fittings. The bathroom has a shower, WC, bidet and wash basin. We provide our guests with bath towels, bath robes, shower gel and hand soap

KITCHEN AND THE LOGGIA
The characteristic kitchen is a unique mix of rustic tradition and modern appliances and is perfectly equipped for you to cook a meal at home.

French doors from the kitchen lead into the loggia area which is the perfect area to relax and escape the heat of the day. The loggia is an airy beamed room with a large recess that looks out onto the surrounding hills and countryside. There are two daybeds ideal for lounging or relaxing with a good book.

GARDEN AND OUTSIDE AREAS
Casa Colomba does have a garden with pretty views over the hills and Medieval towers. The garden is shared with the owners and access is at the back of the property approximately 100 metres from the front door.

ACCESS AND PARKING
Casa Colomba is situated on the second floor. There are two flights of stairs and in total 34 steps. The apartment itself is on one level. The property is not suitable for those who have difficulty accessing the stairs. There is a car park for residents of the historic centre just 100 metres away from the front door.
