OVERVIEW

Casa Ida offers our guests the chance to stay in a truly authentic Medieval village home located in the historic centre of Vicopisano.

This charming 1 bedroom house is a split-level home located between two Medieval lanes which both lead up to the castle on the hill. Casa Ida offers traditional and original features such as beamed ceilings an open fireplace, exposed stone walls and charming views over the Medieval village. The property has stylish cosy interiors and private use of a large garden.

PRIVATE GARDEN WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OVER THE VILLAGE AND HILLS

It is very rare to have a garden in the historic centre of a typical Medieval town but guests at Casa Ida have the privilege  of a private garden access just 20 metres from the front door. In the garden you will find a lawned area and a terrace which can be used for dining and there is even enough space to park a small car.

LIVING WITH HISTORY

A local historian has told us that where the garden is today there was once a 12th Century church and this explains the shape of the garden which sits upon a terrace with magnificent views of the Medieval village and surrounding hills.

WALKING DISTANCE TO SHOPS, BARS, RESTAURANTS AND PIZZERIAS

Within a 3-minute walk down into the village you will reach the local square where you will find 2 bars, a small grocery store, bakers, butchers, gelateria serving artisan ice and a and vegetable stall. You can also walk to 2 restaurants and an additional 2 Pizzerias. In addition, there are 2 ATM’s pharmacy and post office. Please read our notes on accessibility

A PERFECT BASE FOR COUPLES OR SMALL FAMILY

Casa Ida is a cosy romantic hideaway immersed in history in a wonderful location. The one bedroom apartment is the perfect solution for couples, a couple with one child or ideal for two to three friends. There is double queen size bed in the bedroom and a single sofa bed in the living area.

On the ground/entrance level you enter into a small entrance room with a small comfortable sofa which leads into a charming living zone with open fire place and a small office study area. From this level there are 3 steps down to the bedroom and 4 steps up to the bathroom which has a bath, shower cubicle, double washbasin, bidet and WC.

CHARCACTER FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN AND DINING ZONE

The charming kitchen and dining zone is accessed by 14 steps down to the lower level of the house. The fully equipped kitchen if full of character with exposed stone walls and a second entrance which leads out to another Medieval lane. There is also a small sofa for relaxing in this area.

ACCESSABILTY AND PRIVATE PARKING

The beauty of this home is its authenticity with its cleaver quirky design features however the house is not suitable for those who have difficulty negotiating the stairs. The house is also located on the lower slope of a hill which leads up to the castle. The property is in the heart of the Medieval centre and although you may drive to the house the lanes are narrow to negotiate so we highly recommend a small car if you want to utilise the parking area close to the house or within the garden area. If you rent or have a larger car you may park slightly further away from the house.

ENTRANCE 1 (Ground floor)

Located on the lower slope of a hill which leads to the castle. The slope rises for about 300 metres and is not suitable for those who have difficulty walking on the incline.

PARKING

20 metres up from the front door is the entrance to the garden and you pull the car into part of the garden terrace and park. You may also park a further 10 metres above the garden entrance where there are 2 public parking spaces. Other than this there are parking spaces scattered around the historic centre.

ENTRANCE 2 (Lower ground floor)

Located on the lower lane this entrance leads into the kitchen, so it’s an ideal entrance if you are bringing home shopping for the local grocery store or weekly market.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Arrival time is from 4:00pm and ideally before 11:00pm

Departure up to 11:00am

NOTES ON PAYMENT

A €200 refundable security deposit is required on arrival
